Concept statement

With this design I wanted it to be a wrestle between being symmetrical and asymmetrical. So the squares give the symmetry and the feet unbalance it. I was happy with it because I think it sort of worked.

Where in the world would you go to and why?

At 17 I don't know enough about the world to make a really informed decision and it's really exciting to have that possibility. I'd look for places that are inspiational and stylish and also a bit unusual.

Favourite stuff?

Item- ipod /spelling mistakes/ pastime- hanging out with mates doing nothing / person- too many to name there are so many good people in my life/ movie- American Beauty or Donny Darco/ mag- any thing to do with design/ book- I haven’t really got into the book scene but I am sure there are some goodies out there for me/ band- I don’t think I could just name one there heaps so ill give you a few I’m into now Ministry of Sound Annual 2004, The Beautiful Girls, Jack Johnson,HIM,interpol, Led Zepplin, Missy Higgins, there some of the goods.

Three people you'd take to a desert island?

Jamie Oliver, cook up a storm. Vivian Westwood, rad to chat with and Tom Hanks, he`s done it before.

What will you be doing in 10 years?

Hopefully having fun and enjoying what I am doing, which at the moment is anything to do with design (mainly graphic design). That would be RAD

Why should you win this competition?

This competition is a terrific opportunity to put our ideas out there and to have feedback on them. Coming in the top ten was great and I really appreciate the votes and comments. I should only win this competition if I have given the people out there something that they can relate to and that leaves an impression on them. If I won or even got second or third it's a kick start. It's a great opportunity to take another step in the direction that really interests me.
