Concept statement

Creating something unique was important to me as well as showing how French Artists have both influenced and inspired me. My design is a modern take on The Four Trees by Claude Monet. My design was purposely created to differ from other designs, not including landmarks such as The Eiffel Tower and choosing an uncommon colour scheme. The concept of old inspiring the new is my take on Vive La France

Where in the world would you go to and why?

Most likely France for the art culture and the sights. It's so different to Australia, it would definitely be an experience to remember

Favourite stuff?

I really love art, graphic art to be exact - I dream of one day owning my own business, something similar to "Mambo" and selling t-shirt designs and other various items under my label name "Jayki" My other passion is music, I play guitar - though I spent ALOT more time listening than playing, some of my favourite artists include Radiohead, Bon Iver and Arcade Fire Though I still love my rock n' roll; Jet, ACDC and Oasis

Three people you'd take to a desert island?

that's a tough one... I guess Thom Yorke so his singing could keep me entertained, Reg Mombassa and we'd doodle and draw on the beachside and...T-Pain! (jokes) maybe a really good cook? I don't know many famous cooks...so...Jamie Oliver? haha

What will you be doing in 10 years?

hmmm...I plan to develop my art, as in both creatively and technically. I recently persuaded my parents to let me find an art course to do...so pray that goes well I guess I'll be doing my art, get a business degree followed by starting and then running my successful brand/business Pray that dream becomes a reality haha!

Why should you win this competition?

I think I would make the most of the opportunity at hand I think the first prize would really benefit me, either experiencing France and seeing some of the greatest art in the world or getting a laptop for my graphic design Just getting into the top 10 has really encouraged my dream and my goals in life, winning it would only help!
