Concept statement
I was inspired with the idea of stick figures when I saw an image of stick figures stretching and exercising somewhere. And since it was simple, I thought it'd make it more feasible/practical to make as a t-shirt. So I started experimenting with different layouts to make it a bit more interesting and I arrived at this circular layout. It pretty much conveys the idea of exercise in an refreshing way.
Where in the world would you go to and why?
Tough question. The world is full of interesting places. Each place having its own special charm. But I find something intriguing about Eastern Europe. Maybe it's the architecture. Or is it the culture and lifestyle? Whatever it is, it's fascinating. But to be honest, there are just too many places for me to decide to go to one particular spot..
Favourite stuff?
uh...obviously, I like design and art in general. I enjoy playing sport with friends and music is also big part of my life. and my fav music genres vary from alt, rock, electronic, neo-classical to music scores. oh, and I love cars, I just love the look, the smell, the sounds and the taste (well...maybe not taste). I am especially into car design, and into formula 1 too.
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
hmm. I'd probably take a survival training guy (w/ survival and communication equipment thingos so I can get outta there asap) and my favourite artist, Rob Dougan, so I can feed off his brilliance. Wilson could also come along too (ever seen castaway?)
What will you be doing in 10 years?
hopefully, doing something with design (maybe car design??). basically, something creative and suits my skills and interests.
Why should you win this competition?
Why should I win this competition? I think I should only win if I deserve to win. And I think I do deserve to win because I have sucessfully made a practical and effective design that expresses the concept of 'exercise' in a clear manner. It would really boost my confidence and motivation and also give me a chance in which I can further improve my (artistic and designer) skills. Moreover, winning would mean that I could then maybe afford to become an exchange student and expand my horizons. Having said that, there are also many other designs that I think also thoroughly deserve to win. Guess it's all up to the judges I suppose. But yeah, hopefully the bribe I gave to the judges works out :P
