Concept statement
Well personally this wasn't my favourite design, but others seemed to like it. It stemmed from the basic trippy/hippy/psychadelic imagery idea, with an organic flow to it and almost a sense of energy with the bold text and stars. It was done in photoshop
Where in the world would you go to and why?
I'd go to Canada, for the nice people, the use of btoh English and French, as well as the awesome scenery and mountains, especially for skiing.
Favourite stuff?
I've always been into art, and over the past few years been focused more on design, paticurlary graphics. Next year I hope to study Communication Design (if I'm not O/S!) at Uni or Tafe, and am excited about developing my abilities and style. I like all sorts of music, apart from the real mainstream and emo stuff. Recent albums that were in my cd player: "Bowie, best of", "RJD2-Deadringer", "Dilated Peoples-Expansion Team LP", "The Strokes-Room on Fire" That may give people an idea of how broad my tastes are(if they are familiar with any of them).
Three people you'd take to a desert island?
If I found myself on an island, somehow, I'd take McGuyver, for his amazing abilities to make everything out of nothing, paticurlary weapons. As well, I'd take Denise Richards as the nuclear rocket scientist (no joke) in 'The World is Not Enough', as if McGuyver fails I'm sure a rocket scientist would be able to make a boat or something, and she isn't hard on the eyes either. Lastly, I would definitely take Napoleon Dynamite for his boat-building 'skills'
What will you be doing in 10 years?
At 27 years young, I will hopefully be working successfully in the design industry, whether as an art director or graphic artist/designer. Possibly with my own studio or crew, or part of a firm. I'd like to have travelled and experienced a lot in those ten years though, worked freelance, and possibly may be working or doing further studying O/S at the time.
Why should you win this competition?
Firstly I wish to extend my thanks to those who have voted for me, and others, in what they honestly felt were the best designs. I believe that my designs have suited the theme, as well as are very appropriate graphics for tees, aesthetically appealing. I would love to have the experience of going on an international exchange, meeting new people, cultures, and hearing different stories. To experience being seperated from my same surroundings I feel would positively contribute to my maturing in design and creative sense, as well as a person. I appreciate the acknowledgement of making it thus far, and have enjoyed both submitting works and commenting on others. I am sure those who do win will surely have earnt it. Thankyou.
