Concept statement

As an artist, I have incalculable inspirations and aspirations, hence my belief that imagination sets no limitations for the creative. Because of this, I thought it was only too fitting to relay this message to the girl in my design. She represents all of us, moving along with our dreams in faith, and gliding towards success with motivation. My design mainly focuses on the condition of being free; the power to move or act without externally imposed restraints. Yep, and I also decided to incorporate arrows and circles, not only for aesthetic purposes, but as a form of direction and movement that happens so often in our lives.

Where in the world would you go to and why?

Japan! I have always maintained an interest in Asian cultures. The history, fashion, and other visual splendours of the country intrigue me.

Favourite stuff?

My gym ball has to be my favourite item. Haha! I love running, swimming, cycling, hip hop dancing, and playing tennis. Making paper clip earrings is sad, but also entertaining. lol, as is solving riddles.

Three people you'd take to a desert island?

To be realistic, I’ll probably take a scout leader for survival, an engineer or architect to build us a ride home, and a doctor.

What will you be doing in 10 years?

In ten years, I'll have a career in media and communications, or business. If not, there's always real estate. I'll be a property developer!

Why should you win this competition?

Being a finalist and being recognised for doing what I am passionate about is already winning in its own right. Whether I win or not, I embrace and find great profundity in artistic liberty which in essence is the true meaning of art - expressing yourself with no limitations or restraints.
