Lucia Rankin talks about the design:
This Design symbolises a new beginning for indigenous people and the bright future that lies ahead. I chose a sunrise to symbolise that new beginning. This represents a break with their scared past. I deliberately chose a child, which represents the future. This picture encapsulates the feeling of hope and a bright future. This is ultimately an optimistic view of the future for indigenous people. I also chose a picture with a river to show the role of the dreaming stories that play a large part in the indigenous stories, which helps shape the identities of the indigenous people of Australia. In a sense this picture shows these stories being past on to future generations and not being lost. This is a proud picture, full of hope and optimism.
