USA is not strong on its own. Neither does any country. People need to be united for a strong base to be formed and to support their country. However, this does not mean the Americans want to be on their own, isolating from the rest. Everyone is welcome in the country. Every trip to USA brings home worthwhile experience and memories. And those contribute to the image of this country.
So the identity of USA depends on its people as well as visitors.
Your point of UUS is interesting :). But I didn't mean that..
