Campbell Burns talks about the design:
Before it was ASICS it was Onitsuka Tiger. The stripes on ASICS' shoes are actually originally designed as tiger stripes. I have taken the stripes back to their natural environment, onto the canvas of a a tiger's skin. Going back to Nature is the theme I have thought of, this locks perfectly into the theme 'Sportswear derived from Nature'. With parts of the tiger's skin in this design being black and looking invisible I have made a subtle statement of how these animals are slowly dissapearing. I hope you like my design. Thanks.

No it's not buddy, I made it from scratch, and I looked just then at previous years winners and runner ups and nothing there was even close to this.
